A 35-year-old man Anane Dewu has been shot to death at Alavanyo-Dzogbedze on Friday in what appears to be a string of targeted killings in the conflict-ridden town of the Volta region in recent times.
The deceased, Starr News understands, was part of a group of mourners who went to bury the 15-year old school boy, who was also killed in a similar fashion a fortnight ago in the area.
This latest killing also comes barely a week after a 63-year-old woman was killed on her farm, where she went mango picking by unknown gunmen in another suburb of Alavanya.
There have been a recent surge in hostilities in the area, which has a long standing land dispute with their neighbours in Nkonya.
In April, three persons were also killed in Nkonya in what is believed to be a resurgence in the land disputes.
Despite the extension of a dusk to dawn curfew and the presence of a police and military detachment in the two towns, the situation now seem to be getting out of control.
