The People’s National Convention (PNC) has appointed Deputy General Secretary Jacob Amoako as acting General Secretary for the party.
According to the Director of Communications for PNC, Emmanuel Wilson, suspended Atik Mohammed should not be engaged in matters of the party.
Atik Mohammed was suspended indefinitely by the party following a vote-of-no confidence on Saturday, July 22, 2017 for criticizing the appointment of party flagbearer Edward Mahama as Ambassador at Large by President Akufo-Addo.
“The institutions that the People’s National Convention has been liaising with have been served officially with the decision that has been made by the National Executive Council saying that Atik Mohammed is suspended indefinitely,” Mr Wilson disclosed to Accra based Class FM.
“He ceases from being the General Secretary for the People’s National Convention, Jacob Amoako will assume the position and the role of the General Secretary,” he said, adding “so hence forth no one including the media should engage Atik Mohammed in the matters of PNC.”
