Asamoah Gyan’s debut League game for Kayserispor was dented by a heavy 4-1 defeat at the hands of giants Galatasaray as he suffered an injury scare ahead of his much-anticipated game.
Gyan failure to score in the game was due to a slight injury he sustained during warm-up which made him not find the back of the net after lasting 71 minutes.
Gyan was named in the starting line-up for Kayserispor but the Ghana captain was timely checked by the defence of Galatasaray who kept close eyes on the powerful attacker.
The 31-year-old was substituted by Belgian forward Mujangi Bia with 19 minutes left in the game.
Coach Marius Ninel Umudic could start the former Sunderland star in the team’s next game against Göztepe.
The Ghana international signed a two-year contract with the Super Lig side after ending his deal with Chinese Club Shanghai SIPG.
The Ghana international has impressed in pre-season, scoring three goals to send a clear message to Turkish fans ahead of his debut campaign in the country.
