The Tema to Accra shuttle of the Ghana Railway Company has been suspended following the train accident that occurred at Tesano Monday.
About 700 train passengers living around Tema and its environs are expected to be affected by the shutdown.
At least five people were injured when the train derailed at Tesano. The accident occurred early Monday morning at a curvy spot called Santana.
According to an eyewitness, one of the wooden rails was loose which eventually derailed the last coach of the train which was heading to the Central Business District.
Subsequently, the Roads and Highways minister Joe Ghartey has established a 3-member committee to investigate the cause of the accident.
The committee chaired by Deputy Railways Minister, Kwaku Agyenim-Boateng has 3 days to submit its report.
