A patient at the Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital has attacked a nurse at the facility after critical medication for him was delayed.
The incident apparently occurred Friday when the nurse was trying to break a fight between the patient and a colleague at the facility.
But while trying to stop the altercation, the patient sunk his teeth into his flesh creating a terrible gush.
The incident occurred less than 24 hours after workers at the Hospital declared a sit-down strike over the behavior of the Director, Dr Eugene Dordorye.
The current impasse at the Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital has deepened as after aggrieved nurses rejected the apology from their Medical Director describing it as “insincere.”
Dr. Eugene Dordoye on Thursday apologized unreservedly to staff and nurses after a strike by the nurses crippled activities at the hospital.
The nurses on Thursday, November 23, began a sit down strike to press home their demand for the removal of the Medical Director of the facility, Dr. Eugene Dordoye.ur
The nurses accuse Dr. Dordoye of disrespect and exhibiting poor human relations.
This was after they accused government of failing to act on an ultimatum to sack the embattled medical director by Wednesday.
The nurses explain their sit down strike will continue for three days and will subsequently be followed by total withdrawal of service on Monday.
Monitoring the situation there for Starr News, Kwaku Baa-Acheamfour reported that the nurses have vowed to remain on strike until the Medical Director goes.
