A suspected thief believed to be in his 30s has been lynched by some unknown persons at the racecourse market in Kumasi in the Ashanti regional capital.
The sad incident has put traders at racecourse market in a state of shock.
The man was found dead by traders at the market early Wednesday morning.
The suspected thief, according to reports, was allegedly stoned to death after he stabbed a woman in a robbery incident.
A trader at racecourse Maame Afia Boatemaa speaking to Ultimate News said the deceased attacked and robbed a woman at racecourse.
“He stabbed the woman and took away her bag yesterday [Tuesday]. The woman is in critical condition and she was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital (KATH) for treatment,” she said.
Maame Afia Boatemaa, however, called on the Regional Police Commander COP Ken Yeboah to improve the security situation at racecourse market.
The Police has deposited the remains of the deceased at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
