The ongoing investigations into allegations of fraud by the President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwasi Nyantakyi, has not affected his position in any way and still remains at post, the Executive Committee members of the GFA have stated.
A statement by the Executive Committee Thursday stated that the President remains innocent until he is proven guilty of all charges levelled against him.
The GFA boss was on Wednesday released on bail after handing himself to the CID when he arrived from Morocco to answer questions for allegedly using President Akufo-Addo’s name fraudulently.
Mr Nyantakyi’s name popped up in a yet-to-be premiered investigative video under the auspices of Tiger Eye PI being managed by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
The FA boss is alleged to have demanded whopping sums of money from the potential investors to facilitate their meeting with the president, the vice and other senior government officials. The video will be released on June 6, 2018.
But according to the Executive Committee of the GFA, “nothing has changed in terms of the GFA hierarchy and Mr. Nyantakyi still remains the President of the Ghana Football Association.
“Any statement contrary to this must be disregarded.”
The executive committee members added Mr. Nyantakyi has the full support of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
