The Ghana Federation for the Disabled is demanding justice for a hearing impaired pregnant woman who died at the Manhyia Hospital in the Ashanti Region
The deceased Abena Adumaba Donkor was rushed to the hospital after she begun bleeding and vomiting.
The Federation of Disability organization says checks it has done indicate that nurses at the facility watched on unperturbed while the deceased bled and vomited to death.
It is therefore asking for justice to be done and the responsible officials brought to book and it will head to court if nothing is done.
Speaking to Ultimate Fm’s Ivan Heathcote Fumador Kumasi metro president of the Federation attributed Abena’s death to “negligence.”
“It’s very sad that out health workers could do such a thing to a person with hearing impairment,” he said
Meanwhile, the Ghana Health service has sent a fact-finding team to the Manhyia Government hospital over the death Abena.
