There was chaos among members of the NPP at Effiduase over a planned meeting by party executives to oust the DCE of the area from office.
A group of machomen after a failed attempt to pass a vote of no confidence in the DCE Tuesday stormed the party office with sticks and demanded the party executive to pack out from the office accusing them of masterminding the removal of the DCE from office.
According to the constituency secretary Kwame Ampratwum, the Machomen hit him with a stick which he equally replied.
” Our presiding member wrote to us to attend Assembly meeting which I obliged to the request, on my way going I was verbally assaulted by some members who work closely with the DCE but I didn’t reply them. The meeting was called off because court injunction was placed on our planned meeting by a member of the assembly.
“Upon my return to the party office some machomen numbering about 40 stormed the office and requested we should pack out which I refused, in the course of that I was hit with a stick which I also replied one of the Machomen,” he said.
He added “the vice chairman of the NPP for the constituency called in the Police and six of the guys were arrested”.
Ampratwum accused the DCE of organizing the Machomen to attack the party executives without any provocation
“Me I know for sure the guys were sent by the DCE to attack us because the guys stormed the party office few minutes the DCE passed our office in her official vehicle”.
Meanwhile, Police have invited some constituency executives to assist Police investigations.
