The Tema Motorway and several other roads in Accra have been flooded following the torrential rainfall in Accra and its environs.
Areas such as the Kwame Nkrumah circle and Dome have been overtaken by the rains which have lasted for several hours.
In an alert, the police warned drivers and pedestrians to be cautious to in order to avoid casualties.
“The Accra – Tema Motorway is Flooded due to the downpour this afternoon Monday 28th October 2019. Motorists plying that stretch should be mindful and reduce their speed limit. Police Officers are at the scene to manage traffic on the road,” the police statement said.
It has been raining in Accra and other parts of the country since midmorning causing massive flooding in parts of the capital.
Reports say the situation not different in Ghana’s second biggest city Kumasi.
