In line with his annual ritual, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama, as the Holy month of Ramadan kickstarts, has made a donation of 800 bags of sugar and assorted items to the Muslim community to support them carry-out their month-long fasting.
The donation is in his bid to support needy Muslims undergoing spiritual cleansing during the period, considered as one of the pillars in the Islamic calendar.
This year’s Ramadan comes at a time where the globe is under immense weight of the Coronavirus pandemic and the compounding economic misery it is wrecking.
Alhaji Farouk has urged all Muslims to endeavour to cease this Holy period to pray to the Almighty Allah to cleanse the pandemic from the face of the earth.
He also urged all Muslims to share the little they have.
Over the years he has supported his Muslim brothers during the Holy month and would continue to assist in order to maintain the good relationship.
Finally, he urged Muslims in Yendi to continue to pray for continued peace and tranquility in the municipality.
Muslims in Yendi appreciated the kind gesture as he showed unceasing support to the people.
