The Black Stars have booked their ticket for the Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Cameroon next year after securing a 1-1 draw with South Africa in the penultimate qualifying match in Johannesburg.
Kudus Mohammed opened the scoring with a tidy finish to put Ghana in the lead in the second half before Percy Tau levelled for South Africa just four minutes later.
Both sides pushed for the winning goal but to no avail as they had to settle with the teams sharing the spoils at the FNB Stadium.
The result effectively sealed Ghana’s qualification to next year’s AFCON with a game to spare.
Ghana face Sao Tome and Principe in Accra on Sunday in the last Group C game with South Africa meanwhile taking on Sudan in their last group game, with the winner of that fixture joining Ghana in qualifying from the group.
