The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has debunked the assertion by some doctors in the country that the COVID-19 vaccine is not meeting its intended purpose.
The Concerned Doctors who have petitioned President Akufo-Addo requested that the government reconsider the vaccine mandate.
According to them, the vaccines used in the country are not too safe and questioned its effectiveness.
But, the GMA in a statement dated 12th January 2022, noted that the content of the petition does not in any way reflect the situation of COVID-19 in Ghana.
The GMA also indicated that the content of the petition to President Akufo-Addo is misleading, unfortunate and not based on available local and international scientific data.
“In the era of evidence based medicine it is unacceptable that professionals will draw such flawed conclusions based on skewed data that has not gone through the rigors of scientific proof,” the Association pointed out.
