The National Media Commission (NMC) Chairman, Yaw Boadu Ayeboafo, has been denied the chance to vote in the on-going Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) election at the Ashanti regional Electoral Commission (EC) office Friday June 24, 2024.
The Ashanti regional branch of the Association is holding its national and regional elections to elect new executives to manage the association at the regional and national levels.
The former Managing editor of the state newspaper, Daily Graphic, could not find his name in the voters register otherwise known as ‘Master’ list.
The stranded Ayeboafo resorted to calling the top management of the Association to inquire why the exclusion of his name from the list.
Currently, it’s not clear whether the issue could be resolved for the veteran journalist to participate in the election.
The name of EIB’s Ashanti regional correspondent, Isaac Bediako among others was not found in the register .
As at 1:16pm 21 delegates have voted, the remaining 16 more according to the supposed master list.
