Management of Kumasi Technical University have denied deliberately denying about 2000 students registration opportunity for end of second semester exams.

According to the university, the student ask to defer their courses for failing to register for the second semester through which they were not factored into the end of semester exams.

Speaking to GHone News, the aggrieved students admitted they failed to me the registration deadline ” Yes we failed to meet the registration period because we had not made full fees payment. So we made the payment of the panelty that come with late payment. We have done every thing posible for us to be allowed to write the exams which tarted last week but still the University management and the accadmic board insist we should defar our courses. Just now I’m told about 1600 people have been allow to register leaving us alone. We are only begging the management to allow us to register that’s our simple plea”

However, responding to the concerns of the agitating students acting university relations officer (URO) Joshua Appiah disclosed the school management gave the student enough time for them to pay their fees follow by the registration for the accadmic year.

“It will shock you to know that there are some students who failed to register despite paying their fees on time. Our issue is not about payment of fees but refusal to register. We did not factor them into our exams preparation because they did not register. After closing the portal we again asked the students to pay the panelty at the Universities accounts office yet we are hearing for the first time that they did the payment in back. So there was no way we could give them the code to enable them register so they failed to follow simple instructions. At the moment there nothing we can do help them now. What they have to do now is to defar their programmes and write in the next accadmic year” he explained.

Meanwhile, some of the student are considering legal action against the University management.

Source at the Education minister has disclosed the Education minister Dr. Yaw Adutwum is unconformtable about the development on Kumasi Technical University campus had directed the University management to resolve the issue at hand.
