The graduating class of 2007 from Benkum Secondary School has unveiled the CHAMP Project—a groundbreaking initiative aimed at fostering holistic development among current senior high school students in Ghana.

The CHAMP Project, an acronym for Career, Humanity, Innovation, Mindset, and Personal Development, is designed to empower students with essential guidance for career development, cultivate a drive to support humanity, foster innovative thinking, and promote mindset and personal growth.

According to Project Director Gwendy Laryea, the initiatives under CHAMP are strategically crafted to develop students comprehensively, preparing them for successful careers and promoting adaptability in an ever-evolving world, all in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“Our mission is to establish Benkum Secondary School and other schools as beacons of excellence in achieving sustainable development,” stated Gwendy Laryea, emphasizing the long-term vision of the CHAMP Project.

The Headmaster of Benkum Secondary School, Mr. Enock Ampofo, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the initiative. “I am personally elated by this initiative. This project, if sustained, would go a long way to shape the career paths of students who leave this school,” he remarked.

Mr. Ampofo commended the 2007-year group for their forward -thinking approach and encouraged other alumni to unite in supporting the CHAMP Project.

Gwendy Laryea added that while the BOSA 2017-year group plans to address infrastructure challenges faced by the school, the CHAMP Project focuses on the students themselves—a critical path with far-reaching impact. “If we make them CHAMPs, they carry it with them through life and further pass on the ideals of CHAMP to those who will come after them.

CHAMP is a great sustainable blueprint to guide youth empowerment for development, one student at a time,” she concluded.

The CHAMP Project stands as a testament to the enduring commitment of BOSA ’07 to give back to their alma mater and contribute meaningfully to the education and development of the next generation.
