The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) has disclosed that the economy in the 3rd Quarter of 2023 grew by 2.0%, the lowest quarterly growth in the last two years.
This is a significant drop in the 3.3% & 3.2% growth recorded for the first two quarters of the year and also lower than the 2.7% recorded for the same period last year.
The statistical service adds that despite the Agriculture and Services sectors expanding by 5.9% and 5.5% respectively, the Industry sector contracted by 4.3%, mainly driven by a nearly 10% contractions in both the Mining and Construction Sub- Sectors.
