The Akuapem Mamfe Traditional Council in the Eastern Region has praised MTN Ghana for its substantial role in cultural sustainability and community development across Ghana.
Osabarima Ansah Sasraku II, also Kyidomhene of Okuapeman, expressed deep appreciation for MTN’s consistent support of Ghanaian cultural heritage, particularly citing the company’s steadfast sponsorship of the Mamfe Ohum festival over the past two decades.
Speaking on the broader impact beyond cultural endeavors, Osabarima Ansah Sasraku III lauded MTN Ghana’s establishment of a state-of-the-art robotics center at Mamfe Methodist Girls Senior High School(MEGISS
This initiative aims to enhance students’ knowledge in artificial intelligence and robotics, contributing to local development.
The commendation came during a ceremony where MTN Ghana generously donated a symbolic cheque of GH₵10,000, airtime valued at Ghc1000, and a hamper containing assorted drinks to the Mamfe Traditional Council in support of the ongoing Ohum festival celebration.
Efua Falconer, Corporate Communications Manager for MTN Ghana, emphasized the company’s collaborative efforts with the traditional councils to promote cultural programs in the country.
Efua Falconer further revealed MTN’s commitment to various social intervention programs in the Mamfe community, expressing gratitude for the longstanding support from Osabarima Nana Ansah Sasraku III and the traditional council.
