Rock City Hotel has withdrawn its decision to buy 60% of the shares in four hotels owned by the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).

This comes on the back of after Organized Labour vowed to embark on strike on Monday, July 15, if SSNIT goes ahead with the sale of the hotels to Rock City Hotel, which is owned by Agriculture Minister Bryan Acheampong.

In a letter to the Director-General of SSNIT, Mr. Kofi Osafo-Maafo, Rock City Hotel expressed displeasure with the lack of stakeholder involvement, which they believe has contributed to the negative publicity surrounding their bid.

They have consequently withdrawn from their bid to purchase the shares in the four hotels.

In order to promote transparency and accountability, Rock City Hotel has agreed to release all or parts of its bid materials for public review or publishing, as needed.
