Otto Addo, the coach of Black Stars, has criticized the Black Star’s failure to win their home matches in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers as shameful and painful.
The Black Stars aimed to recover from a 1-0 defeat to Angola and a draw against Niger in their earlier qualifiers against Sudan in a doubleheader.
Black Stars however, was held to a goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium and then suffered a 2-0 loss in the return leg in Libya.
The 45-year-old coach expressed frustration over the disappointing results, stating that it was unacceptable not to have won their home games.
“It is really shameful that at least we didn’t win our home games to get in a good situation for our away games,” he told Ghana FA Media.
“We have to do better and surely we have to learn and it’s very, very painful but surely we can use this to learn out of our mistakes,” he added.
Ghana currently sits 3rd in Group F after four matches, with only two points.
The Black Stars will return next month for their final qualifier round, starting with a home match against Niger before traveling to Angola.
