Ghana’s head coach, Otto Addo, is optimistic about the Black Stars’ chances of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The team has not won their qualifying campaign and is currently facing a challenging task to secure a spot in the Morocco tournament.
Following a 2-0 defeat to Sudan in Libya on Tuesday, Ghana’s chances are now hanging by a thread.
Speaking to the Ghana Football Association’s Media Team coach Otto Addo is confident Ghana can still secure a ticket to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
“Surely, we as Ghana, should qualify for the AFCON. Yet, mathematically, there’s still a chance and we will do everything, which is in our hands, to hold this chance alive,” Addo shared in a recent statement.
Ghana needs to win two remaining games against Angola and Niger in November and hope Sudan loses both to qualify for the continental event.
Sudan, who are currently in a strong position, need just a single point from their final two matches to qualify, leaving little room for error on Ghana’s part.
With the matches scheduled for November, Ghana’s Black Stars face pressure to perform well in the prestigious tournament, aiming to avoid missing out in over two decades.
