Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama is calling on disappointed supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to shift their allegiance and vote for the NDC in the upcoming December 7 general elections.
Mr. Mahama’s appeal is part of his broader strategy to broaden his support base to make a return to the Presidency with less than a month to the polls.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Twifo Praso in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa constituency of the Central Region, the former president reached out directly to those who feel let down by the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration, urging them to consider the NDC as an alternative for better leadership and policies.
He further assured them that under his leadership, the NDC would address the concerns and challenges they face, aiming at restoring hope and confidence in governance.
“What we’re doing is a communal effort, so if you’re with the NPP and feel disappointed, come join us and let the NDC win.
“When your party (NPP) is in opposition, you can work with those who carried the party to rebuild it again. The things we in the NDC are planning to accomplish will make it a long time before Ghanaians consider turning back to the NPP.
“So when the time comes, let’s all make sure to vote decisively, so there is no room for doubt. Any doubt could lead to a need to go to court, and we all know how they’ve prepared that ground.”
