The Ghana Police Service has interdicted with immediate effect Detective Corporal Baba Amando Ibrahim, stationed at Tuna Police Station in the Savannah Region, for professional misconduct.
In a brief statement, the police administration explained that the police officer was sighted in a viral video assaulting a member of the public.
“His interdiction is to allow for a thorough investigation into his conduct in line with Police Service Regulations.
“The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has reached out to the family of the victim and offered assurance of support”, the police administration disclosed.
It continued: “The IGP has accordingly directed the Savannah Regional Police Commander to work with the family in this regard.”
