Nana Boadi Amponim Obodede III – Krontihene of Akyem Asoum, has launched a scathing attack on Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia over the frustrations of the worsening economic situation, questioning his ability to deliver on his promises if given the nod in the upcoming December 7 elections.

Speaking during a community engagement with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate, John Mahama in Kade, the Krontihene of Asoum stated that the flag bearer of the NPP who was once the beacon of hope to save the country’s economy has gone from a “game changer to a ball boy”.

“If not John Mahama, who then? The one whom we brought as Messi, our number 10, our playmaker, our game-changer could not manage things well and has now been reduced to a ball boy.

“Dr. Bawumia was brought in to save the economy. Now he is talking about digitization which he did not start. The one who laid the foundation is right here [gesturing at former President Mahama]. With so many fiber optic cables he set, without which you [Dr. Bawumia] wouldn’t be talking about digitization today,” the Krontihene of Asoum said.

He further accused the government of failing to deliver on its promises even as he decried the lack of transparency and accountability in governance.

Former President Mahama was in Kade as part of his campaign tour of the Eastern Region, the third-largest region with regards to registered voters after the Greater Accra and Ashanti regions.
