Three notorious armed robbery gang who operated in the Greater Accra and Eastern regions have been remanded by the Oda Magistrate Court presided over by Her Worship Akwasi Appeatse Abaidoo during a committal hearing Thursday.

The accused persons are Tahiru Sulemana alias Money, John Baka and Kofi Adu alias Annointing.

The complainants, Prince Aboagye, Emmanuel Boateng and Charles Appiah are based in Half -Asini, USA and Akyem Oda respectively while the accused armed robbers are based at Ablekuma and Kasoa.

On January 29, 2018, one of the complainants -Emmanuel Boateng arrived in Ghana from USA and rented an apartment at Akyem Oda Caprice area.

On same day, Prince Aboagye, the other complainant also came to Akyem Oda and lodged at Morning Star Hotel with his fiancee, Esther Abrokwah.

However, while in their hotel room at about 10:45pm, the robbers made an unusual noise at the back of their window which compelled the complainant to open and peep through the window in curiosity but the accused persons pointed gun at him and ordered that he opens the door which he obliged.

After opening the door, he was robbed off their belongings at gunpoint.

The three accused persons immediately after the robbery moved to Ridge Basic School at Akyem Oda where the booty was shared.

One of the accused, John Baka departed to Kasoa the same night but Tahiru Sulemana and Kofi Adu went to Caprice Area at Oda where they saw the fiancée of complainant Emmanuel Boateng disposing waste into a litter bin at their resident at Caprice, they attacked her and took her hostage at gunpoint.

After a while the complainant worried about his fiancée’s whereabout attempted to trace her but he was also captured by the armed robbers.

The two accused persons took away an iPad, Amazon Tablet, IPhone 6 mobile phone, a BLO Phone and cash of Ghc80.

Charles Appiah, the third complainant who coincidentally appeared at the scene, was also robbed at gunpoint by the accused robbers who took away his Techno Mobile Phone.

The two accused armed robbers subsequently shoved Boateng and his fiancée to their room and threatened to gun them down if they fail to disclose to them where their monies were kept.

Out of fear, the complainant obliged and the accused persons took away Ghc20, 000 and one other mobile phone, locked their victims and bolted.

Police investigations led to the arrest of all the three accused persons recently at Akyem Oda.

The accused were identified by their victims during an identification parade.

Investigations have revealed that the accused armed robbers have been engaging in other crimes in other parts of the country.
