Anthony Julius, a member of the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) communications team, has reaffirmed President-elect John Dramani Mahama’s strong commitment to tackling corruption and recovering stolen state funds through the newly established anti-corruption squad.
In an interview with GHOne TV, Julius highlighted several key incidents as evidence of financial mismanagement under the current government.
Julius further explained that the primary function of the Organised Reporting and Accountability Leadership (ORAL) team is to gather information ahead of Mahama’s return to office.
Since Mahama has not yet assumed office, Julius clarified that the team is currently focused on collecting crucial data.
Julius reiterated that Mahama’s commitment to addressing these corruption issues will be a top priority once he officially takes office.
“The infamous Agypadie deal where $12 million was spent on a supposed setting up within London—you remember the SML, the ambulance spear part scandal where the cost of repairing one ambulance is more than the cost of buying one ambulance—the national cathedral where millions of dollars were sunk across the street—all those issues where Ghanaians have been ripped off. So Mahama is committed to recovering all these monies. The purpose of the oral team is to gather relevant necessary information,” he added.
