Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s time as a Manchester United player is now officially at an end.
After managing just seven appearances for the club since returning from a serious knee injury, United agreed on Thursday to pulp the remaining four months of Ibrahimovic’s contract and allow the Swede to leave on free transfer, with LA Galaxy his rumoured destination.
News of Ibrahimovic’s departure soon spread through the rest of the United squad, with several players offering farewell messages on social media. And even Henrikh Mkhitaryan, now at Arsenal, wanted to have his say.
Ashley Young was also quick to wish Ibrahimovic the very best of luck on the next leg of his continuing adventure.
Paul Pogba also waved off his chum into the sunset, sharing a video of the pair cracking up about Ibra’s “lion” comment during a postmatch interview back in November.
And Marcus Rashford thanked the Swede for his guidance.
Galaxy are yet to formally announce Ibrahimovic’s arrival but it’s being widely reported that the 36-year-old forward has put pen to paper on a two-year deal at the MLS side.
