President Nana Akufo-Addo has launched another scathing attack on National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate, John Mahama regarding his pledge to introduce a 24-hour economy and urged voters not to be deceived by the former president.
The president who was campaigning on behalf of his vice-president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the Sekyere Afram Plains Constituency repeated his rebuke of Mr. Mahama that he had been the only incumbent president who had been refused a second term since the inception of the 4th Republic.
“At the mention of Rawlings, we remember District Assemblies. Kufuor introduced National Health Insurance [Scheme]. Nana Addo, Free SHS. John Dramani Mahama, dumsor, dumsor.
“He [Mahama] said he will introduce a 24-hour economy. During your term in office, you couldn’t keep the lights for 12 hours and if you couldn’t keep the lights on for 12 hours, how would you implement the 24-hour economy initiative?” President Akufo-Addo asked rhetorically at the rally.
He touted the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flag bearer, Dr. Bawumia as the only candidate on the ballot who could continue what his administration has started in office.
President Akufo-Addo has been on a national tour, commissioning completed projects spanning various sectors of the economy.
