The Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with the Ghana National Fire Service, is investigating a fire outbreak on December 17, 2024, at the Kwashieman Cluster of Schools, where the Ablekuma North Constituency ballot boxes were stored.
In a statement, the police assured the public that those responsible for the fire would be brought to justice. They urged citizens to remain calm as investigations are ongoing.
The fire comes amid post-election unrest in parts of the country.
According to the police, 132 individuals have been arrested nationwide in connection with the disturbances, with 45 suspects currently in police remand, 71 on police enquiry bail, and 16 others out on court bail.
The police have assured the public of their commitment to maintaining peace and stability and have called for full cooperation as legal action continues.
