Pain of my sudden loss; Julius Caesar Anadem R.I.P.

Like scenes flashing past the windshield of a speeding car,

Like a spark of vapor swept away by the wind’s powerful currents,

Like a drop of dust falling into the ocean, leaving no trace,

With no chance to catch a breath or utter a word.

Death swooped in unexpectedly, striking from my blind side,

Taking a ruthless shot at the steadfast guardian who stood tall behind me.

It happened too fast, so sudden, so unexpected, so cruel and heartless.

With no room to maneuver, no strength to scream for rescue,

Completely overwhelmed by this merciless grip, this ominous sprint, this unpardonable separation.

Our spirited encounters, enduring adventures, hearty memories, and elaborate plans now lie in the ruins of despair.

Caesar was the anchor that allowed me to take adventurous dives, secure in the knowledge that even if things took a dramatic turn, I could hook and winch back to safety.

He was the lighthouse that guided me through the sea, assuring me that when I felt lost and alone; he would still be right there to signal me right.

His presence was as reassuring as a life jacket on a troubled boat, as a parachute strapped tight on a distressed flight.

With dexterity, Caesar was that Safari Guide who knew every path of the jungle, could predict what lay ahead, and dictate the safest tracks to follow on any day.

My sight may be failing, but now I gaze hazily into a future without my vanguard.

It feels like setting sail without a compass,

Like being ushered into the jungle with no survival kit.

Caesar, you were a gift from God.

I dare not compare you to your Maker,

But sincerely, it’s difficult to predict how to navigate without your guidance.

Caesar, I had just begun venturing into my high seas;

I am barely off the foot of the numerous mountains to climb.

I’ve not yet mastered keeping my foot steady on the paddle;

Caesar, I can barely hold myself up swimming in choppy waters.

Why would you leave at this critical point?

Why depart so suddenly?

Without a hint, with no signals; with no foreboding;

I just didn’t see this coming; I feel so ill-prepared; somewhat vulnerable.

Your phone number was my rescue code; I could call it out even from a deep slumber.

But now I call and will no longer hear that deep, heavy, reassuring voice.

You always told us that some of us will surely meet you sitting and having a chat with God in Heaven;

You laughed about how you will scrutinize our videos when God starts screening our life on earth.

Though it gives us assurance that you are in the heavens; I never imagined it would be this early.

The distance between us is too wide; I trust I will make it someday.

But as I live, Caesar! I pray my Lord to make you proud.

I will have to find my bearing somehow;

I have to soldier on.

I am tearing as I end this,

May your gentle soul Rest in perfect Peace.

Heaven will rejoice to have a man like you.

You had so many questions about God and had a profound thirst and hunger to know more about HIM.

Now that you are with Him, continue your Breakfast Show there;

The GUEST you so longed to interview, I am certain, will be so ready to grant you all the audience you desired so badly.

My Boss Caesar, you have served your generation well.

Nante Yie.

You will remain in my heart forever.
