President John Dramani Mahama has returned to Ghana after attending the investiture of President of the Republic of the Congo, Denis Sassou Nguesso for another five-year tenure.
President Nguesso extended his over 40-year rule of the oil-rich Central African nation after securing a landslide win of 94% of votes in the March 15, 2026 elections.

President Mahama joined several African leaders and dignitaries at the high-profile ceremony held in Brazzaville, reaffirming Ghana’s commitment to regional cooperation and democratic governance across the continent.

His attendance at the investiture underscores ongoing diplomatic ties between Ghana and the Central African nation, as well as his continued engagement in continental affairs.
