Hollard Ghana has announced the death of its Group Chief Executive Officer, Patience Enyonam Akyianu.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, the company said Mrs Akyianu passed away on Sunday, September 20.
Hollard Ghana described her as an exceptional leader who played a pivotal role in the growth and transformation of the company.
Mrs Akyianu joined Hollard Ghana in October 2018 and became the company’s first Group CEO, where she laid what the company described as a solid, purpose-led foundation for its future.
Under her leadership, Hollard Ghana said it was transformed into a dynamic, market-leading force, with Mrs Akyianu instrumental in making insurance more accessible to thousands of people across Ghana.
The company said her legacy extended beyond business growth and the development of a trusted brand, highlighting the culture of care, courage and kindness she fostered within the organisation and the communities it serves.
“Patience was more than an exceptional leader; she was the beating heart of Hollard Ghana,” the company said.
Hollard Ghana said Mrs Akyianu would be remembered by the company and the wider insurance industry for her grace and unwavering commitment to its people, customers and its purpose of enabling more people to create and secure a better future.
The company extended its condolences to her husband, Kwame Akyianu, and their children, Awurama and Nana Banyin, as well as her other loved ones.
