The Ghana Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has released political activist Kwame Asare-Obeng (A-Plus), over his comments regarding individuals involved in Ahmed Suale’s death.
A-Plus is expected to return to the police headquarters for further questioning on Wednesday, July 18, 2024.
Background
The Ghana Police Service invited A-Plus to assist Police’s ongoing investigation into the death of Ahmed Suale.
In a statement, the Police explained that the move follows A-Plus’ recent claims on social media that he has some information regarding Suale’s case.
“The Cold Case Unit established in October 2021, under the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service to handle cases of this nature has been working on the investigation into the case and closely engaging with the deceased’s family.
“The Police is therefore pleased that Mr. Kwame Asare Obeng (A-Plus) has made indication that he has some information that could assist the ongoing investigation, and he has been invited accordingly”, the statement concluded.
