The Minister of Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has refuted allegations that his office has authorized payments to Kennedy Ohene Agyapong or any contractors.
His response follows a viral video by social media personality Afia Schwarzenegger, in which she claimed that the finance minister had made payments to certain contractors, including the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP), Kennedy Agyapong.
In a post on X, Dr. Forson stated clearly that no contractor had received any payments since he assumed office. “Friends, since I took office, no contractor including Kennedy Agyapong has been paid a pesewa,” he wrote.
The Minister further clarified that the government is currently undertaking a thorough review of all contracts and payment requests to ascertain their legitimacy before any disbursements are made.
“We are currently conducting a comprehensive review of all contracts and payment requests to verify their legitimacy,” he stated.
Dr. Forson urged the public to dismiss any claims suggesting that he had approved payments to Kennedy Agyapong or any other contractor.
“Please disregard any claims suggesting that I have authorized payment to Kennedy Ohene Agyapong or any other contractor,” he added.
