Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh has urged National Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters to stand by their party members and fight back if any National Democratic Congress supporter engages in a confrontation with them.
During a visit by the minority caucus leadership to the party’s parliamentary candidate for Ablekuma North, Akua Afriyie, Annoh-Dompreh called on NPP members to unite and support their own in the face of conflict with the NDC.
“If you’re a member of the NPP and you see a fellow party member fighting with someone from the NDC, stand by your party member and support them,” he urged the crowd.
He also issued a strong statement regarding the ongoing election dispute, demanding that the Electoral Commission declare the NPP candidate as the winner of the Ablekuma North election within one week. “We are giving the Electoral Commission one week to declare our candidate as the winner of the Ablekuma North election,” he said.
Mr. Annoh-Dompreh further warned the Majority, led by Mahama Ayariga, that continued obstruction of the EC’s collation process would not be tolerated. “If the Majority refuses to be reasonable and keeps obstructing the EC from completing the collation, they will never have peace in Parliament,” he stated.
Concluding his remarks, Annoh-Dompreh sent a stern message to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), signaling that if the IGP remained passive, the party would escalate its demonstrations. “If the IGP decides to stay indifferent and allow these actions to continue, we will escalate our demonstrations,” he warned.
