Black Starlets head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has assured fans that the team is working hard to sharpen their finishing at the ongoing WAFU B U-17 Championship in Yamoussoukro.
Ghana opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Togo, a result that exposed the side’s struggles in front of goal despite creating several opportunities.
Speaking to the media ahead of their second group fixture against hosts Ivory Coast, Dr. Ogum emphasised that chance creation has not been a challenge, but converting them remains the key concern.
“Creating the chance is not the problem. It’s about conversion, and because of that, we had a full session on goal scoring in our last training,” he revealed.
The coach explained that his side has been replicating match scenarios during training to boost confidence and precision in finishing.
“Some of the scenarios we faced against Togo were recreated and worked on. The conversion was good at training, and I’m confident it will reflect against Ivory Coast,” he added.
The Black Starlets will take on the tournament hosts at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium on Monday, with kick-off scheduled for 18:00 GMT.
