Former Member of Parliament for Anyaa Sowutuom, Dr. Dickson Adomako Kissi, says Dr. Bryan Acheampong is the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) best chance at closing the nearly two-million-vote deficit from the 2024 elections and securing a “one-touch victory” in 2028.

In an interview on Morning Starr with Naa Dedei Tettey on Friday, October 10, Dr. Kissi said the party is at a critical crossroads and needs a unifier with both political and business acumen to restore its electoral fortunes.

“The key thing for considering working for him or with him this time is that the party certainly is at a crossroads,” he said.

“And everybody, not just me, is aware of that. And I strongly believe that the deficit we have now within the party in terms of the last election, which is well close to two million votes, he stands to be the very best person to close up that deficit and give us a one-touch win in 2028.”

Dr. Kissi described Dr. Acheampong as a “strategic and unifying candidate” with deep experience in security and intelligence, qualities he said Ghana needs in its next president.

“With the way things are going with galamsey, our national security architecture, I think that Dr. Bryan Acheampong, with his experience within the American military and his business experience, stands tall in terms of getting the country in good shape — in security, business infrastructure, and food security,” he added.

He also credited Dr. Acheampong for revitalizing grassroots enthusiasm within the party.

Meanwhile, the NPP will today hold balloting to determine the positions of five presidential aspirants ahead of its January 2026 primaries.

Those expected to participate in today’s draw include Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong, Hon. Dr. Bryan Acheampong, H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.
