COMAC projects sharp decline in fuel prices from Nov. 1 as cedi strengthens

Ghanaians are set to enjoy significant fuel price reductions beginning November 1, 2025, as the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC) projects major cuts.

The Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC) has announced that fuel prices across Ghana will see a significant drop starting November 1, 2025.

According to the Chamber’s latest market outlook, the upcoming pricing window will bring reductions in petrol, diesel, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) — marking the biggest fuel price cut so far this year.

Petrol and diesel prices are expected to fall notably, with LPG also set to decline by nearly 7%, offering much-needed relief to consumers and transport operators.

COMAC attributes the reduction to a combination of falling global crude oil prices and the recent strengthening of the Ghana cedi.

Crude oil has dropped to a five-month low of around $62.82 per barrel, while the cedi appreciated from GH¢12.63 to GH¢11.21 per dollar in October, driven by the Bank of Ghana’s improved forex interventions.

The Chamber says the adjustments will likely take effect across major filling stations nationwide from the weekend into early next week, depending on how quickly oil marketing companies recalibrate their pumps or clear existing stock.

Economists say the move will help ease transport fares, stabilize market prices, and bring some relief to households already struggling with high living costs.
