A Community Police Assistant stationed at Ajumako Bisease in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region has been injured after being stabbed while attempting to arrest a suspected criminal.
According to GhOne News reporter Yaw Boagyan, the incident occurred when the 25-year-old officer, identified as Obed Fynn, heard a disturbance in the area and rushed to the scene.
He reportedly identified a man, known only as Yaw, who was wanted by police for alleged criminal activity. When the officer attempted to apprehend him, the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed him before fleeing.
The injured officer was rushed to the Ajumako Bisease Polyclinic, where he is receiving treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
The attack has sparked concern among residents, who are calling for swift police action to arrest the suspect and improve security in the area.
Police have launched investigations and are currently pursuing the suspect, who remains at large.
