The Complementary Education Agency has secured funding to build one learning center in underserved areas every year for the next five years. This follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Sulu Investment Limited, producers of Nero Water and Beverages.
The initiative is expected to significantly improve educational access in underserved communities, providing children with modern learning facilities and better opportunities to thrive academically.
Speaking at the signing ceremony held at the Complementary Education Agency on Wednesday March 11, 2026 Managing Director of Sulu Investment, Manab Pattnaik, urged young people to take their education seriously, noting that it is the surest path to success.
“I strongly believe that education is the only means by which we can achieve our dreams. If we really dream something and we want to achieve it, we must get education. Unfortunately, not many children get the opportunity of getting a good environment to learn and to get education”
“And we in Nero, we realize that this is the best way we can contribute back to the society in which we are operating by investing into creating schools or learning centers. And that’s how it has motivated us to come and invest into the learning centers.” He emphasized
Mr. Pattnaik also noted that supporting the complementary education agency was the perfect way to give back to the society
“But I find that the Complementary Education Agency is a better way of you know, doing it in an organized… Under this agreement, what we are committing is that every year we will build one learning center for them. That is to start with”. Mr. Pattnaik added
Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Complementary Education Agency, Daniel Ashiamah, expressed his appreciation for the initiative and encouraged other corporate institutions in Ghana to take inspiration from Sulu Investment when fulfilling their corporate social responsibility.
“Corporate Ghana we will be coming so that you also follow the example. You can give us a center. Tell us, okay, go and do it in my district. Go and do it in this region. And you monitor us. We are ready for that.” He noted.
The collaboration between Sulu Investment and the Complementary Education Agency is being hailed as a step forward in addressing the challenges faced by schools in underserved areas.
