Minister for Communications, Samuel Nartey George, has announced that effective July 1, 2025, mobile network operators in Ghana will implement revised data bundle prices value, with increases ranging between 10% and 15%.
This follows concerns by Ghanaians, especially the youth over the expensive data prices.
Addressing the press in Accra on Tuesday, June 10, Sam George announced the data value increment.
According to him, the decision follows extensive consultations with telecom operators aimed at improving data value for consumers, despite the price hikes.
Mr. George emphasized that although he cannot unilaterally mandate pricing changes, the outcome of the consultations reflects a positive step for consumers, with improved data volumes at slightly higher prices.
The revised pricing takes effect on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
