MultiChoice Ghana has clarified that the much-publicized increase in value offering for bouquet packages at no extra cost to DStv subscribers is only a temporary promotion and not a permanent adjustment.
The clarification follows comments by Communications and Digitalization Minister, Sam George, who had described the 33–50 percent drop in bouquet prices as a “big win” for Ghanaian consumers. At a press briefing, the Minister said, “MultiChoice Africa has committed to implementing an unprecedentedly increased value offer only in Ghana, which will result in Ghanaian DStv subscribers getting more services for less.”
Speaking on GHTODAY with Lily Mohammed on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, MultiChoice Ghana’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Nii Armah Dagadu, confirmed that the offer will run only until December 2025. He added that a joint committee will review the promotion’s impact before deciding on the next steps. A position shared by Communications and Digitalization Minister, Sam George, at his presser.

But in a separate statement, MultiChoice Africa, operators of DStv in Ghana, described the initiative as the “We’ve Got You” Promotion, launched to thank loyal subscribers and reward them with access to higher-tier channels from their current package.
“The Promotion is to thank loyal customers for their continued support and reward them with all the channels available on the highest package from their current package.” , the statement read.
The company emphasized that the promotion applies to both new and existing customers, including previously disconnected accounts. To take advantage of the campaign, subscribers must either maintain their current package or upgrade to a higher one.

“It is advisable that a customer either stays on their current package or upgrade to a higher package to take up the offer”.
While the government has framed the announcement as a consumer victory, MultiChoice insists the promotion should not be mistaken for a permanent price reduction.
