The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has officially launched its 2025 National Community Outreach Program, under the theme “Educating for a Safer Tomorrow.” This nationwide initiative is designed to take DVLA services beyond traditional office spaces, bringing essential licensing and education services directly to communities across Ghana.
The outreach program seeks to improve public access to DVLA services while deepening awareness of road safety and regulatory compliance. Key services to be provided include driver’s license applications and renewals, replacements of expired or lost licenses, issuance of International Driving Permits, and more. In addition, the program is expected to deliver on-the-ground education on vital topics such as road safety practices, Motor Traffic and Transport regulations, vision screening, fire safety, insurance, and first aid.

This initiative aligns with DVLA’s core mandate of promoting road safety and environmental sustainability and forms part of the Authority’s long-term strategy to improve accessibility, inclusivity, and proactive public engagement.
The outreach will span selected regions across the country, with targeted engagement at lorry stations, corporate institutions, religious organizations, and other interest groups. Communities or organizations interested in participating are encouraged to contact the Authority, upon which arrangements will be made to deliver services directly to them.

Speaking at the official launch, the Chief Executive of the DVLA, Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey, reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to service excellence and innovation. “The DVLA is committed to building stronger relationships with the people we serve. This outreach program allows us to listen, learn, and deliver tailored solutions that promote safety, convenience, and trust,” he said.
