The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that the voter’s exhibition exercise will begin from August 20 to 27 at all polling stations nationwide.
Addressing the media, the Deputy Chairman of the Electoral Commission in charge of Corporate Services, Dr. Bossman Asare disclosed that the primary goal of the exercise is to sanitize the voters register and to help voters to know their polling station.
According to Bossman Asare, voters are allowed to make the following requests during the exercise; inclusion of omitted names, objection to names of unqualified voters on the register, removal of names of deceased voters, replacement of poor quality or damaged voter ID cards, correction of wrong spelling of names, correction to wrong registration voter quotes and amendment to other registration details.
The Commission also announced that eligible voters can also check their names and details in the register via a short code *711*51# which will be made available during and beyond the exhibition exercise.

Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare says the Elections security taskforce is ready for December 7 elections as it warns political parties actions seeking to breach the country’s peace will not be tolerated.
Speaking during a visit to the EC headquarters over the upcoming exhibition of the voters register by the Taskforce, the IGP and Chairman of the Taskforce Dr. George Akuffo Dampare urged the public to patronize the exercise with the assurance of security. The IGP warned political parties not to take the law into their own hands when they have concerns.
Deputy chairman for the EC Dr. Bossman Asare on his part assured the commission has done everything possible to engender confidence in the public about the transparency of the process. Dr. Asare disclosed the EC is ready for the exhibition exercise.
Dr. Dampare emphasized the importance of ensuring a smooth and orderly process throughout the exhibition period.
Dr. Dampare also issued a stern warning to political parties and their supporters, cautioning them against taking the law into their own hands.
He stressed that any issues or disputes that arise during the exercise should be resolved through the proper channels.
“We do not want to see anyone attempting to bypass the law or create disturbances,” he warned.
“Let us all commit to respecting the rules and ensuring that the exhibition process proceeds without incident.”
The IGP reassured the public that the security services are fully prepared to manage any challenges that may arise.
