The Minister for Sports and Recreation Hon Kofi Iddi Adams paid a courtesy call on His Royal Majesty, the Ga Manste King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II.

The visit underscores the strong relationship between traditional leadership and national institutions in Ghana’s pursuit of sporting excellence and cultural promotion, reinforcing the country’s aspirations on both the continental and global stages.

The visit also sought the blessings and support of His Majesty for the upcoming national sporting events.

During the visit, Minister Adams officially announced that the Black Stars have qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup for the fifth time. This achievement underscores Ghana’s rising stature in global football and highlights the country’s dedication to nurturing sporting talent.

The Minister also shared exciting news about upcoming sporting events, including the prestigious Senior Athletics Championship and the African Arm-wrestling Championships, both scheduled to be hosted in Accra. These events are set to showcase Ghana’s sporting prowess and foster unity among its people.

Expressing admiration for the monarch’s leadership, Hon. Adams commended His Royal Majesty for his tolerance and dedication to creating a conducive environment for governance and youth development. He emphasized that the royal leader’s efforts are instrumental in shaping Ghana’s future, particularly through empowering the youth.

The overlord urged the Minister to continue leveraging Ghana’s rich cultural heritage on the international stage, especially during global tournaments like the FIFA World Cup, to inspire pride and create economic opportunities.

The traditional ruler also called for unity and peace within the Black Stars camp, urging the players and officials to remain focused and committed to the game. He emphasized that wearing the national colours should be a matter of immense pride and a symbol of national unity.

His Royal Majesty commended Hon. Kofi Adams for his leadership and urged him to stay dedicated to delivering on his mandate for the betterment of Ghanaian sports.
