The Ministry of Education has issued a strong warning against the circulation of fake and digitally manipulated Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) placement slips on social media.
Officials said unscrupulous individuals are altering the documents and falsely claiming that the Ministry has changed students’ original placement results.
“The Ministry wishes to state unequivocally that these claims are false and misleading,” the statement released by Press Secretary, Hashmin Mohammed said.
According to the ministry, preliminary internal verification found that some of the slips being shared do not match records generated by the official CSSPS platform.
“In particular, the barcodes and QR codes on the circulating documents do not correspond with the placement information shown on them. System and audit logs also do not support the claims. The evidence indicates the documents have been digitally manipulated or otherwise altered to create the false impression that placements have been changed,” the statement said further.
The Ministry described the actions as a serious attempt to undermine public confidence in the CSSPS process and to create unnecessary confusion and anxiety among students, parents and guardians.
The statement continued that the matter has been referred to the Cyber Security Authority and other relevant security agencies for further investigation and appropriate action.
Members of the public have therefore been urged to exercise caution and stop sharing unverified placement slips or claims on social media.
“Parents, guardians, and students are advised to rely only on placement information obtained through official CSSPS channels,” the statement urged.
The Ministry further reaffirmed its commitment to conducting the 2026 CSSPS placement exercise with transparency, fairness, integrity, and accountability.
It also assured the public that any legitimate concerns about placements will be properly investigated through the appropriate channels.
