#Electionhub: We feel vindicated – Mussa Dankwah reacts to successful predictions

Mussa Dankwah, Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, has expressed a sense of vindication following the success of his team’s predictions in the 2024 presidential elections.

Global InfoAnalytics had projected that John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, would win the presidential race.

The firm’s survey forecasted Mahama securing 52.2% of the vote, surpassing New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who was expected to receive 41.4%. Other candidates, including Alan Kyerematen and Nana Kwame Bediako, were projected to receive 2.5% and 3.0%, respectively.

Despite the accurate prediction, Global InfoAnalytics faced heavy criticism, particularly from politicians.

Sammi Awuku, the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for the Akropong Constituency, dismissed the poll results as “fufu-based” and criticised Dankwah for the firm’s previous inaccurate predictions during the NPP’s presidential primaries.

However, with Mahama’s landslide victory in the 2024 elections, Dankwah’s predictions have proven to be accurate. Mahama defeated Dr. Bawumia, who garnered 4,657,304 votes (41.61%).

Speaking on Morning Starr with Naa Dedei Tettey, Mussa Dankwah reflected on the vindication, stating, “We feel really vindicated on the sense that despite all the negativity against me and my personality and the kind of ridiculous statements that were made by many other prominent persons in this country, I think we’ve felt that we have proven ourselves, and we are not emotionally attach to the data. Despite our personal feelings, that doesn’t override our data. We have never put emotions in reading our data, it’s been purely data and nothing else and once we do that and it has been skill that you have to learn to do, I think you will feel vindicated.”

Dankwah emphasised the importance of professionalism and skill in reading and analysing data, asserting that their success is a result of adhering to these principles.
