The Director of Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has called on party executives to remain focused ahead of the December 7 elections.
His remarks come in the wake of allegations regarding irregularities in the Electoral Commission’s (EC) handling of validating stamps in the Offinso South Constituency.
In a Facebook post, Dr. Omane Boamah shared a checklist for Returning Officers, Deputies, and District Electoral Officers (DEOs), stressing the importance of ensuring that validating stamps are properly wrapped before being unwrapped at polling stations.
He stated, “Kindly find the list of items (Checklist) that Returning Officers and Deputies (and DEOs) must place in the ballot boxes at the various centers where legitimate filling of materials in ballot boxes will take place. NB: Insist and ensure the Validating Stamp is wrapped (not naked). It must only be unwrapped at the polling stations before voting tomorrow, December 7, 2024.”
Dr. Omane Boamah further warned against tolerating any similar irregularities like those allegedly attempted in Offinso South, where unwrapped validating stamps were reportedly used.
He urged party officials to stay vigilant to ensure a transparent and credible election process.
