Entertainment Week Ghana has officially kicked off its 2026 edition with the return of its Creative Economy Incubator and Deal Room for a second year, continuing its mission to connect Ghana’s creative industries with business, technology, capital and institutional support.

After its inaugural edition in 2025, Entertainment Week Ghana returns with an expanded programme spanning entrepreneurship, investment, music, fashion, film, visual arts, and live experiences. The 2026 edition will include the Creative Economy Incubator and Deal Room, Entertainment Week Ghana Summit, an art exhibition in partnership with Sankofa Gallery, the second edition of Atalé and the return of Airwaves. The Creative Economy Incubator was introduced during the first Entertainment Week Ghana to identify and support entrepreneurs building businesses, technology and solutions for the creative industries. The inaugural programme attracted more than 50 submissions, with Seudio emerging as the winner and receiving GHS 50,000 to support the development of its business.

For its second edition, the Incubator and Deal Room will continue connecting selected entrepreneurs with expertise, mentorship and opportunities across technology, artificial intelligence, finance, legal, monetisation, business development and investment.

Partners supporting the wider Incubator and Deal Room ecosystem include Paystack, WeWire and Google, bringing technology and business expertise into the programme.

The initiative reflects Entertainment Week Ghana’s broader ambition to move the conversation around Ghanaian creativity beyond talent and visibility towards the businesses, infrastructure, technology and capital required to build a sustainable creative economy.

Building on the inaugural Entertainment Week Ghana

Entertainment Week Ghana launched in 2025 as a multi-day platform connecting Ghana’s music, fashion, film, art and wider creative industries with business, investment and institutional support. The inaugural edition received backing from the Ghana Tourism Authority, Black Star Experience, National Film Authority and Ministry of Youth Development and

Empowerment, with Konica Minolta serving as a major sponsor. Strategic collaborators included Ashesi Student Council, Bravado, Akuna Pod and Lynx Entertainment. The official launch brought together figures from government, entertainment and the wider creative sector, including Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment George Opare-Addo and media personality Abeiku Santana, signalling the platform’s intention to connect creatives with institutions, policymakers and business leaders.

The inaugural Entertainment Week Ghana Summit subsequently brought some of Ghana’s most influential creative and business voices into one space. Participants included internationally recognised Ghanaian artist Ibrahim Mahama, AfroFuture CEO Abdul Karim Abdullah, GUBA Enterprise CEO Dentaa Amoateng, Rex Omar, Jewel Thompson and other industry leaders.

Executives and representatives connected to major global brands including Hennessy and Diageo also participated, bringing the corporate and commercial side of the creative economy into conversations around the future of Ghanaian entertainment and culture.

Atalé brings fashion, culture and nightlife together

Fashion became another major pillar of the inaugural edition through the Atalé Fashion Party, which brought designers, personalities and cultural figures together for a different approach to presenting African fashion. The programme featured brands and designers including Christie Brown, Free The Youth, Bloom by Edzi, Kula Perry and Atto Andoh, alongside personalities including Salma Mumin, Mauli Gavor and Nana Akua Addo. Jamaican dancehall icon Beenie Man also attended the event.

Hosted at Treehouse in Accra, Atalé was positioned as more than a conventional runway show, bringing fashion into conversation with music, nightlife, personalities and contemporary African culture. The format forms part of Entertainment Week Ghana’s wider strategy of developing individual cultural properties that can grow independently while remaining connected to the larger creative-economy platform.

Airwaves expands the platform into music and live experiences

Music was represented through the inaugural Airwaves Beach Festival at SI Beach, staged in partnership with Lynx Entertainment. The programme combined live music and DJ performances with producer-led sessions, wellness activities, masterclasses and wider industry conversations, creating an experience that connected entertainment with professional and cultural development.

Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy also participated in an all-female inclusion panel focused on women’s empowerment, representation, opportunities and participation within music and the wider creative industries.

The programme demonstrated Entertainment Week Ghana’s intention to use live entertainment not simply as a closing celebration, but as another platform for conversations, collaboration and community within the creative sector.

Film brings leading Ghanaian screen talent together

Film formed another major component of Entertainment Week Ghana through a programme developed with Idris Elba’s Akuna Pod and Bravado. The Film Festival brought together screenings, producer sessions, panel discussions and networking around African cinema, production and storytelling. Ghanaian film personalities Joselyn Dumas, Ivan Quashigah and James Gardiner were among the industry figures involved in the programme.

By connecting filmmakers, actors, producers and other industry stakeholders, the film programme formed part of a broader attempt to create stronger connections between creative talent and the business structures required to develop, finance and distribute African stories.

The Creative Economy Incubator puts business at the centre

Alongside its cultural programming, the first Entertainment Week Ghana introduced the Creative Economy Incubator and Deal Room, creating a dedicated business-development component within the platform.

More than 50 applications were received for the inaugural cohort, with selected participants gaining access to mentorship and business development before presenting their ideas. Seudio, the overall winner, received GHS 50,000, demonstrating the platform’s intention to connect creative entrepreneurship with tangible financial support.

The second edition builds on that foundation with a focus on the intersection of AI, technology, capital and creativity. It is designed for entrepreneurs developing businesses and solutions across areas including media and storytelling, fashion technology and

e-commerce, creator tools and monetisation, distribution and streaming, fan engagement, music, gaming, sports, film and television, event technology and other parts of the creative economy.

With partners including Paystack, WeWire and Google, the programme aims to expose participating entrepreneurs to the technology, expertise, networks and commercial thinking needed to transform creative ideas into sustainable businesses.

Entertainment Week Ghana returns to Bloombar in November

The wider Entertainment Week Ghana programme will continue with the Entertainment Week Ghana Summit at Bloombar on November 28, 2026.

The Summit will bring creatives, founders, investors, brands, executives and industry leaders together around conversations on AI, technology, finance and the creative economy, while selected businesses emerging from the Creative Economy Incubator will have an opportunity to connect with the wider investment and industry ecosystem. On November 29, Entertainment Week Ghana will move into visual art with an art exhibition in partnership with Sankofa Gallery, expanding the platform’s programming around Ghanaian art, artists and contemporary culture.

The programme will continue into December with the second edition of Atalé, alongside the return of Airwaves, extending Entertainment Week Ghana into Ghana’s end-of-year cultural season.

Entertainment Week Ghana moves into creative-economy research

Entertainment Week Ghana is also preparing to expand beyond events and programming with plans for its first Creative Economy Report. While further details of the report are expected to be announced, the initiative represents a move into research, data and industry intelligence around Ghana’s creative economy.

Reliable data remains one of the challenges facing creative businesses, investors and institutions across the continent. Building a stronger understanding of the businesses, employment, investment, consumer behaviour and emerging opportunities within Ghana’s creative industries could provide a more informed foundation for conversations between creators, companies, investors, policymakers and development institutions.

The move also signals Entertainment Week Ghana’s ambition to become more than an annual series of events. By combining industry programming, entrepreneurship, investment, cultural experiences and research, the platform is positioning itself as infrastructure for the wider creative ecosystem.

Building the next phase of Ghana’s creative economy

Together, the first edition demonstrated the broader ambition behind Entertainment Week Ghana: to create an annual platform where culture, business, technology, capital and institutions intersect. Rather than building a single conference or festival, Entertainment Week Ghana is developing individual properties across entrepreneurship, fashion, film, music, visual art, investment and industry development that can grow independently while sitting under one creative-economy platform.

Ghana has already demonstrated its ability to produce globally relevant music, fashion, film, art and cultural experiences. The next phase requires stronger businesses, intellectual property, financing, distribution, technology, data and institutions capable of ensuring that greater economic value from Ghanaian creativity is retained within the ecosystem. Entertainment Week Ghana 2026 is powered by BlacVolta, PartyXtra and Q Africa, as the platform builds towards becoming an annual meeting point for the people, ideas, businesses and institutions shaping the future of Ghana’s creative ec
