Smiles lit up faces across Klottey-Korle as the Member of Parliament, Dr. Zanetor Rawlings, extended festive support to senior citizens through her flagship “MP’s Time with the Aged” initiative.
The two-day outreach, which ended on Sunday, December 21, brought together hundreds of elderly residents from across the constituency.
The programme began on Saturday in Osu, where the seniors received assistance and words of encouragement. Accra Mayor, Michael Kpakpo Allotey, joined the first day’s activities and commended Dr. Rawlings for her sustained commitment to the welfare of the aged.

On the second day, Dr. Rawlings was joined by the Klottey-Korle Constituency Chairman, Nii Nokwei Nakai, as they distributed essential food items including bags of rice and cooking supplies to help the elderly enjoy a comfortable Christmas.
Addressing participants, Dr. Rawlings stressed that the initiative was not politically motivated but rooted in appreciation and service to those who have contributed to national development.

“This is about honoring those who built the foundation we stand on today. As we celebrate, I urge all Ghanaians to be cautious. Let us observe all road safety regulations—if you drink, do not drive. We want everyone to enter the New Year safely,” she said.
She further acknowledged the role of the elderly in shaping the nation and her leadership journey under the John Dramani Mahama-led NDC administration.

The event concluded with Dr. Rawlings personally handing out gift packages to attendees, many of whom expressed heartfelt appreciation for what they described as her consistent support over the past eight years.
